Skate Lessons

We’re back with some more group lessons! Presented as part of Scribble, which will see interactive sculptures take over Guildhall Square, inviting everyone to play on them and make their own scribble!

Always wanted to try skateboarding but never had the chance? Well WE GOT YOU!

Come learn to skate in a supportive, fun environment with other women, girls and non-binary skaters. Coaches Emily and Ida will be there to cheer you on and show you the fundamental skills you need to get rolling.

In this small group lesson, arranged as part of Scribble, you’ll cover pushing, turning on your board and a few other things to get you feeling really comfy on a board.

The lesson is suitable for both total beginners and those that have rolled a bit but want to focus on key skills. Age 10+. All equipment can be provided if needed.

Emily and Ida coach with Get Up Skate School, set up by Ida in 2023. Get Up is the only women-led skate school on the South Coast, and both coaches work hard to create an environment where all skaters feel safe and supported. They both have experience of working with neurodiverse skaters and have coached all ages.

Both are passionate about making skate spaces more inclusive and really love teaching adults to skate!
